The Tyler Perry house in Beverly Hills is listed for $57 million. Perry put the 24,592-square-foot mansion on the market on September 29, 2026, ahead of a planned move to Puerto Rico in early 2027. He bought the land for $4.3 million in 2004, and he’s reportedly keeping his Atlanta home and Tyler Perry Studios.

For years, the Tyler Perry house has been one of the most talked-about estates in Los Angeles, partly because of its size and partly because of who has stayed there. Now it’s on the market, and the listing says a lot about where Perry’s life and career are headed. Here’s everything we could verify about the home, its price and the rest of his property portfolio.

Who Is Tyler Perry?

Tyler Perry is an American filmmaker, actor and playwright, best known for creating the character Madea. According to published biographies, he was born Emmitt Perry Jr. in New Orleans on September 13, 1969. He built his name through stage plays, then moved into films like Diary of a Mad Black Woman and later into television.

In 2015 he bought most of the former Fort McPherson Army base in Atlanta, and Tyler Perry Studios opened there in 2019. The complex covers about 330 acres, which makes Perry one of the few creators who owns the studio where he works. Reports describe him as a billionaire.

His latest project, Why Did I Get Married Again?, premiered on Netflix on September 9, 2026. Cast members said he filmed it in just four days, while recovering from a broken collarbone he got in a bicycle accident. Perry is 57. He shares his 11-year-old son, Aman, with former girlfriend Gelila Bekele.

Where Does Tyler Perry Live?

Perry’s main base is the Atlanta area, close to Tyler Perry Studios, and reports say he’s keeping his Atlanta mansion. Several websites claim exact addresses, acreage and values for it. Their numbers range from 1,000 to 2,100 acres and as high as $100 million. They contradict each other and cite no records, so we’re not printing them.

His California home has been the Beverly Hills estate, and that’s about to change. On September 14, Perry told “Today with Jenna & Sheinelle” that he’s moving to Puerto Rico with Aman at the start of 2027 and “pulling back a whole lot.” We couldn’t find a confirmed Puerto Rico purchase.

Why Is Tyler Perry Selling His Beverly Hills Home?

Perry’s own explanation is simple. He said he’s getting older and wants to slow down, spend more time with his son and take things in. Selling a home he rarely needs makes sense when you’re relocating.

Puerto Rico’s Act 60 program offers tax incentives to new residents. Perry hasn’t said taxes are part of his decision, so we won’t guess. He also hasn’t announced changes to his production work, and Tyler Perry Studios isn’t closing.

Inside the Tyler Perry House in Beverly Hills

According to Robb Report, the multi-winged mansion has nine bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, including a one-bedroom guesthouse. Perry built it as a Tuscan-style villa, completed in 2012, on land he bought in 2004. The magazine says it’s called Chateau Reve.

Local reporting describes a Mediterranean-style design with a symmetrical “butterfly” floor plan, set inside a 24-hour guard-gated community. Reported features include a library, a private screening room, a bar, a pool, a separate guesthouse and staff quarters. We don’t publish the street address.

The estate has hosted famous guests. Reports say Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama have visited. After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to the U.S. in 2020, they stayed there temporarily, with Perry providing accommodations and security.

Tyler Perry House Price: What $57 Million Really Means

Year Event Price
2004 Perry buys the land $4.3M
2012 Mansion completed Cost not disclosed
Sept 2026 Listed for sale $57M (asking)

The Real Deal reports the same history. The Tyler Perry house works out to about $2,318 per square foot, and the land alone is up roughly 13 times. That second number is misleading, because Perry spent millions building the home.

It’s also an asking price, not a sale price. At this level, homes often sell for less, and the buyer pool for a $57 million house is small. Treat $57 million as a starting point for negotiation.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Perry listed this retreat in June 2026 for $39.5 million. It sits on more than 37 acres and includes a custom log home of nearly 11,000 square feet. With the Beverly Hills listing, he now has $96.5 million of property on the market.

Atlanta Home and Tyler Perry Studios

Reports say he’s keeping both. The studio covers about 330 acres on the former Army base, and it’s where he shoots most of his films and series.

Former Buckhead Estate

This one made headlines. The French Provincial mansion has about 35,000 square feet, seven bedrooms and 17 acres along the Chattahoochee River. Perry paid about $9 million for it and sold it in 2016 for $17.5 million, which Robb Report calls a record sale. In 2020, Steve Harvey bought it for $15 million, as TMZ reported.

Former Chattahoochee Hills Home

This six-bedroom home on 11 acres has a theater, gym, tennis court and a six-bay garage. It appeared in Perry’s films, including Diary of a Mad Black Woman. It was listed at $3.9 million in late 2024 and sold in November 2025 for $2,453,500.

  • Where he’s moving in Puerto Rico. Perry hasn’t said where he’ll live, and we couldn’t find a confirmed purchase.

Will the Tyler Perry House Really Sell for $57 Million?

That’s the question to watch. Perry paid $4.3 million for the land and spent years building the home, but a $57 million price tag puts it among the most expensive listings in Los Angeles. His Atlanta mansion sold for less than he asked in the past, and homes at this level often take months to find the right buyer.

The bigger story is what this sale says about Perry. He’s keeping his studio and his Atlanta base, so this looks like a smaller personal life, not a smaller career. Selling $96.5 million of property in one year is a clear signal that he’s serious about slowing down.
